Neurological Rehabilitation

The rehabilitation of those individuals with neurological impairments will require the use of therapeutic procedures and activities to regain their previous level of functional ability. The most common diagnoses that would benefit from a referral to Marlboro Physical Therapy,  are:

  • Stroke Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Balance Disorders
  • Gait Difficulties
  • Neuropathies
  • RSD – Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
  • Bell’s Palsy (facial paralysis)

Treatment options are determined after an initial evaluation by a physical therapist in conjunction with your physician’s orders. The treatment program may consist of the following: gait training, balance activities, transfer training, neuro re-education, range of stretching and stretching, therapeutic exercise, aerobic conditioning, fitting for the appropriate assistive device for ambulation, and prosthetic/orthotic check-out. Physical modalities may also be used such as electrical stimulation, moist heat or cold to control pain and spasm.
